The City of Calgary has advised that it will be closing off vehicular access to 33rd street from Bow Trail starting on July 26, 2010 and lasting until October 15th, 2010 to accommodate tunnel work associated with the West LRT project.
To clarify, traffic travelling on Bow Trail will not be able to turn from Bow Trail onto southbound 33rd Street during this period.
33rd street will remain open from the Westbrook Mall site entrance/exit adjacent to Boston Pizza to 17th Avenue SW so vehicles will be able to continue to enter or exit the Westbrook site from 33rd street however, access to and from Bow Trail will be closed.
Access to the Westbrook site from, eastbound Bow Trail between 37th Street and 33rd Street will remain open during this time as will all other points of entry/exit.
Pedestrian access to the corner of Bow Trail and 33rd Street will also be maintained during this closure period.
The City of Calgary will be posting directional signage along Bow Trail, 17th Avenue, 26th Street and 33rd Street to direct customers to the appropriate detour routes and site access points.
